“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” (Psalms 23: 6)
Note David begins this verse by underscoring the certainty of this unbreakable truth and promise. This, is noted in the first word, “surely.” There should be no doubt that what is stated here is to be believed with no doubt, but with assurance. No matter what, surely the Goodness and mercy of the Lord, and actually the Lord, will be with you all the days of your, now and forever. The love, care, concern of the Lord God should never be doubted or questioned. With the certainty of God’s love, his goodness is “surely” with his children.
